

MY STORY
I began baking with my Grandmother when I was a little girl. She taught me the value of using quality ingredients and making every recipe with love, for baking truly is an act of love; love for what you are making, and love for the person you are making it for.
As I grew up my schedule became busy, not leaving time for baking, so I would get my baked goods from the store. Even though it was convenient, I noticed most of what I bought triggered my food allergies, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and regretting eating it. I also felt great disappointment as the baking never seemed to taste even half as good as I remembered my grandmothers baking tasting.
Tired of allergies and disappointment I put on my apron and began making my own baked goods, modifying my recipes over time until they lived up to the memory of baking with my grandmother.
I shared my baking with friends and family and during conversations I learned that there are many people who have food allergies, or dietary restrictions, but still want good quality baking without artificial sweeteners or preservatives, something that is very difficult to find at big stores. I would often be asked if I could make goods for them fitting there dietary restriction.
Rising to the call, I created modified versions of my recipes to work around allergies, or dietary restrictions for my family and friends so everyone could enjoy delicious baked goods.
And so First Light Smiles was born. I hope you love every bite with the same love that I pour into every recipe.
